ATLANTA (AP) — Todd and Julie Chrisley, the stars of the reality TV show "Chrisley Knows Best," were sentenced to federal prison on Monday after being convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion.
Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven years. Both were also ordered to pay restitution of over $11 million.
The couple was convicted in June of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud. Prosecutors said they lied about their income and assets to banks in order to obtain loans, and then used the money to fund their lavish lifestyle.
The Chrisleys' attorney said they plan to appeal the convictions.
The couple is scheduled to report to prison on January 17, 2023.
