Tottenham ease past Nottingham Forest to climb into top four

Kane scores twice as Spurs move above Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur moved into the Premier League's top four with a comfortable 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday. Harry Kane scored twice for Spurs, with Richarlison also on target, while Brennan Johnson pulled one back for Forest.

Tottenham looking to move above Manchester United

Tottenham came into the game looking to move above Manchester United into fourth place in the table, and they made a strong start. They took the lead in the fifth minute when Kane headed home from close range after being picked out by Dejan Kulusevski.

Forest responded well to going behind, and they had chances to equalise, but they were denied by some good saves from Hugo Lloris. Tottenham doubled their lead in the 25th minute when Richarlison tapped home from close range after Kane had seen his shot saved.

Forest pulled one back in the 34th minute when Johnson scored a fine goal from outside the box. However, Tottenham restored their two-goal advantage just before half-time when Kane scored his second of the game.

The second half was a quieter affair, with Tottenham content to sit back and defend their lead. Forest had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past Lloris.

The win moves Tottenham up to fourth place in the table, level on points with Manchester United but ahead on goal difference. Forest remain in 19th place.
